REDWOOD CITY, CA – Aug. 14, 2012 – i2c, Inc., a provider of payment processing and emerging commerce solutions, and Western Union, a leader in global payment services, have joined forces to bring consumers in the Philippines a unique, feature-rich prepaid card. The Western Union® Gold Prepaid Card was launched recently in the Philippines using i2c’s global processing platform, MCP.
Expanding on its existing relationship with i2c, Western Union is leveraging MCP’s unique platform capabilities to better meet the needs of Filipino consumers. The Western Union Gold Prepaid Card is the first in the market to allow consumers to direct a Western Union Money Transfer transaction directly onto a card, or utilize a “split payout” option to load part of a remittance onto a card and receive the rest in cash. The card also offers innovative mobile text features that help consumers better manage their money.
