At i2c, we don't just talk about prepaid innovation. We live it.
Our focus on helping program managers create sustainable differentiation, improve efficiencies and chart paths towards profitability has resulted in an impressive list of prepaid card technology firsts. Since our inception in 2001, our team has consistently delivered ground-breaking products and new ways of thinking:
Industry First

User-Defined Program Setup    3.2003

i2c introduced an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) within the MCP platform that allowed issuers and program managers to set-up and refine card programs themselves. This revolutionized the way programs could be created and brought to market. While other processing platforms required paperwork to be sent from one place to another, leading to months of configuration and costly development work, MCP's GUI made it possible for program managers to go from concept to test card in 24 hours. Read more about MCP's user-defined architecture here.

Value-Added Services (VAS) Accounts    12.2003

Taking the user-defined setup concept a step further, i2c developed the architecture to integrate value-added services – defined and configured by clients without development work – into the MCP processing platform. The use of value-added services are critical in creating program differentiation and one of the keys to building a loyal cardholder base, but historically they took years to integrate into the core processing system. With the introduction of i2c's VAS configuration interface, program managers could add and fine-tune value-added services with a few clicks of the mouse.

Sales Channel Management    6.2006

Taking the user-defined setup concept a step further, i2c developed the architecture to integrate value-added services – defined and configured by clients without development work – into the MCP processing platform. The use of value-added services are critical in creating program differentiation and one of the keys to building a loyal cardholder base, but historically they took years to integrate into the core processing system. Entitlements    3.2007
With the introduction of its Entitlement technology, i2c made it possible to process transactions using a new unit of currency: Stock-Keeping Units (SKUs). It provided program managers with the flexibility to load, process redemptions and do balance inquiries on goods and services instead of just monetary currency – a unique capability that enabled them to get creative with their programs.

Program Performance Management (MCP Index)    4.2007
To help our clients gauge the effectiveness of their programs, i2c created MCP Index, an analytical tool which compared client programs against benchmark performance data aggregated across all MCP deployments. With the introduction of MCP Index, program managers without access to industry-wide card issuing performance data now had a tool to measure the effectiveness of their programs and zero-in on areas that needed improvement.

Campaign Management (C-Envoy)    4.2007
Frequent and relevant communications with cardholders help manage cost, increase cardholder engagement and drive down churn. C-Envoy was created to help clients manage cardholder communication throughout the life cycle of a card, helping to increase revenue and efficiency. Its powerful replacement tags and event-driven engine deliver personalized, timely communications about marketing, customer service or account details. With C-Envoy, program managers can plan and configure multi-channel campaigns or communications using any combination of voice, email, fax, SMS and web channels and have them run with minimal to no on-going effort.

Share-of-Spend Model    11.2007
Recognizing that market forces would apply downward pressure on fees charged to prepaid cardholders, i2c began advocating a new business model for prepaid: Share-of-Spend. The Share-of-Spend model recognizes that profitability gained through fee income is unsustainable and aligns the interest of all stakeholders – cardholders, program managers and goods & services providers – to create long-term, profitable programs. Read more about the Share-of-Spend model here.

Gift Card Personalization (Giftogram)    3.2008
Giftogram adds personalization to gift cards by allowing consumers to record personal messages that gift card recipients hear upon card activation. It is clever and unique way to differentiate a gift card program. Read more about Giftogram here.

Real-Time Digital Couponing (i-Coupons)    7.2008
i-Coupons are digital incentives linked to a loyalty, prepaid or payment card that can be delivered in real-time and redeemed transparently using existing card processing connections. This breakthrough technology not only created an additional tool for program managers to differentiate their card programs, but brought tremendous value to consumers, retailers and acquirers.
